Reuben sandwich
Smoky pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and tangy Russian dressing nestled between two slices of toasted rye bread.

- 2 slices rye bread
- 6 slices pastrami
- 1 tsp butter
- 2 tbsp Russian dressing
- ¼ cup Sauerkraut
- 2 slices Swiss cheese Jarlsberg or Emmentaler would be good substitutes
Preheat the sandwich maker or large skillet on medium heat.
Lightly butter one side of both slices of rye bread.
Spread the non buttered sides with Russian dressing.
Layer on the sliced pastrami, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese and top with the remaining bread slice with the butter on the outside.
Put in skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
Let it rest for a minute, serve with potato crisps and a beer.
