Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tbsp rosemary fresh, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Thyme fresh
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a container and mix well together to combine.
  • NOTE: if not dry brining first, add an extra tablespoon of kosher salt to the rub.

Notes

1. How much rub to use
You want to cover the entire prime rib with an even layer of seasoning. The exact amount will depend on the size of prime rib you can cooking. For example, on a 10.5lbs prime rib I smoked, I used 3tbsp of rub.
