Grilled Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon, seasoned, grilled and lightly brushed with a BBQ glaze.

  • Preheat your grill to 400°F and set it up for two-zone cooking.
  • Peel and devein the shrimp.
  • Cut the bacon strips in half. Wrap each shrimp in half a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Season the bacon wrapped shrimp all over with BBQ seasoning.
  • Place shrimp on the indirect heat side of the grill for 15-20 mins, flipping once or twice as needed.
  • Brush each shrimp with bbq sauce and grill the shrimp on direct heat for 30 seconds on each side.
  • Brush on some additional bbq sauce and garnish with parsley. Enjoy!

Notes

Shrimp sizingMost people don’t know what the different numbers represent such as 16-20 or 21-25 when buying shrimp. It's actually very simple. These numbers represent how many of those specific shrimp add up to one pound. So, the smaller the number, the larger the shrimp.
Two-zone cooking - Bank the charcoal to one side for two-zone cooking. You can place the shrimp on the opposite side of the grill so they are not cooking directly over the coals. 
If you are using a gas grill you can do the same thing by using the burners on half of the grill and placing your shrimp on the opposite side where the burners are not lit.
