Southern Style Coleslaw
apple cider vinegar
green cabbage, finely shredded
red cabbage, finely shredded
red onion, finely sliced
Placed the sliced onion in a small bowl and cover with boiling water. Leave this to sit for a few minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water before patting dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl add the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, sugar, apple cider vinegar, onion powder and celery salt, giving it a good mix until the ingredients are all incorporated.
Mix the onion in a bowl with the cabbage and carrot, then set aside.
Just before serving add the cabbage mixture to the dressing and toss to combine.
To cut down time even further use a bag of coleslaw mix that weighs around 8 ounces.
