BBQ Chicken Flatbread

Ingredients you’ll need

  • Base – I like to use store-bought flatbread, but you can also make your own pizza crust if you prefer.
  • ToppingsBBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, and leftover smoked chicken (or a store-bought rotisserie chicken would work, too) for a great combination with loads of sweet and savory barbecue flavor. I also add red onions and feta cheese.

How to make BBQ Chicken Flatbread

1. Fire up the oven

The Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven makes cooking pizza a breeze and has multiple pizza settings you can choose from depending on what type of pizza and crust you’re cooking.

For the store-bought flatbreads, I used the “Thin” pizza setting. It sets the oven to 550°F and cooks it for 5 minutes.

The oven takes about 20 minutes to preheat, so I like to turn it on before I head inside to prep my pizza.

2. Prep your flatbread

Start by spreading BBQ sauce across one side of your flatbread. You want to use a basting brush or silicone spatula to spread the sauce evenly across the entire surface of the bread.

Mozzarella cheese is always a fantastic choice for pizza, but cheddar or Colby Jack would work great too.

Once the sauce is spread, add the cheese, chicken, red onion, and feta.

You can add whatever topping you like, though, so feel free to have fun with it!

3. Cook your flatbread

When your pizza oven is preheated to 550℉, simply place your flatbread on the pizza stone and let it cook.

It only takes about 5 minutes, but keep an eye on it so that you don’t burn it.

You’ll know it’s done when the crust is golden brown, and the cheese is nice and melty.

Then you can pull it off, slice it up, and enjoy!
