The Traeger Timberline was the most expensive pellet grill I tested this year – and it just hit a record-low price for Black Friday

As someone who tests grills and smokers for a living, not many product releases surprise me. But I was shocked when I saw the price of the new Traeger Timberline wood pellet grill.
Updated in 2023 with an all new design the Timberline has thicker construction for improved temperature stability, color touch screen, better storage options and the addition of a side induction plate for preparing sides, sauces or searing meat.
While Traeger grills were never the cheapest option on the market, I’ve always found them to be decent value. Especially the Pro model, which I’ve been smoking on regularly for the last three years.
As someone who caters, I’ve found the size of the XL model perfect as I can fit three full sheet pans inside it. With 880 square inches of rack space, the standard model is plenty big for most families though.
If you’re looking to upgrade your grill or get someone a ridiculously nice gift, right now you can get $300 off both the Traeger Timberline and Timberline XL.
That brings the price under $3000 for the base model, which while not cheap, is tempting when you consider you’re virtually getting an entire outdoor kitchen in one grill.

Traeger also have $200 off both sizes of the Ironwood pellet grill which also received a big design overhaul in 2023. It’s a great option if you want the improved build quality and betterstorage options, but aren’t willing to splash out for the Timberline.
Finally you can grab a Pro and get $150 off, which brings the price down to a very reasonable $649.99 for the 575.
